Fehr - Bort engagement
Cynthia Wendt and Steven Fehr of Leawood announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Eleanor Fehr, to Andrew Nemec Bort, son of Linda Nemec and Christopher Bort of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Caroline is the granddaughter of Irene Fehr and the late Louis Fehr of Overland Park and Betty Wendt and the late Charles and Maxine Wendt of Houstonia and Sedalia, Missouri.
Andrew is the grandson of Jean Bort and the late Albert Bort of Bethesda, Maryland, and Gladys Nemec and the late William Nemec of New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania.
Caroline and Andrew are both graduates of Washington University in St. Louis. Caroline earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. The couple live in the District of Columbia, where Caroline is an attorney at a nonprofit law firm and Andrew is a software developer at the Washington Post.
Caroline and Andrew will be married in September in Kansas City.
Gabrielle “Gabs” Baker, daughter of Janet and Bruce Baker and granddaughter of the late Ruth and Harry Baker, received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law on May 19, 2018. Gabs graduated from Blue Valley North High School in 2010 and from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish in May 2013. After working in Denver as a bilingual human relations specialist with Saunders Construction Company for a year, Gabs made the decision to return home to take her LSAT and apply to law school. She will remain in Colorado and take the state bar exam at the end of July and then start her employment with Colorado’s Office of the State Public Defender this fall.

Adrian and Jennifer Salazar of Danville, Pennsylvania, announce the birth Jan. 2 of a daughter, Eliana Rose Salazar. They are also the parents of Noah Scott Salazar.

The APA Division 39 Awards Committee has selected Marilyn Metzl, Ph.D., to receive the APA Division 39 2019 Founders Award. The award will be presented at the annual spring meeting in Philadelphia next April.
