Dr. Melvin Nathan Abend, 86, passed away on March 3, surrounded by family.

Janis Luke Koike, 82, formerly of Kansas City, passed away on March 5 in Springfield, Virginia, of complications related to cancer. 

The world lost one of its brightest lights on March 9 when Gracie Ellen Pack Meiggs passed away at the age of 37.

Ronald A. Margolis, whom many knew as Aryeh, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17 in Durango, Colorado, his home of more than 35 years.

Paul Kemp Sessel, 70, of Leawood, Kansas, died on March 2.

Maurice (Morrie) Fred Goodman passed away on Feb. 26 at the age of 74.

Lilly (Lebovics) Segelstein, 98, died peacefully at her home in the Rhoda Goldman Plaza in San Francisco, California, on Feb. 19. Graveside services were held on March 1 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Norman Shaffer, 91, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 1.

Sharon Marks Swartzman, 89, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 26, 1936, in Kansas City to Reva and Jim Marks.

Shevie Winitz passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 24.
