JCRB|AJC Kansas City is hosting "Beyond the Headlines: Understanding the Jewish Community and Antisemitism in this Moment," at 6 pm on Thursday, October 8.

The Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) regularly works closely with individuals and families to achieve their unique philanthropic goals. Oftentimes this includes creating a customized charitable fund that fulfills a family’s specific charitable mission and engages multiple generations to perpetuate a legacy of generosity. The first such fund established at the Foundation was the Earl J. and Leona K. Tranin Special Fund, created 50 years ago, which continues to give actively today and positively impact the Kansas City community.

For one week, Kansas City welcomed more than 1,000 athletes, coaches, volunteers and community members for the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games.

The Jewish Community Chaplaincy Program, housed at Jewish Family Services (JFS), will offer its Service of Spiritual Renewal on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. in the social hall at Village Shalom. (Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of Friday, Sept. 11)

Jewish War Veterans MO-KAN Post 605 announced in August that it has awarded scholarships totaling $4,950 to nine local students as a part of its annual academic scholarship program.

The Jewish Unforgettable Ladies Interested in Eating Together (JULIETs) will meet for a discussion with Laura Gilman, a licensed social worker who will discuss her personal perspective on end-of-life care as a death doula.

Village Shalom is preparing for the High Holidays. 

The J’s KC SuperStar finals competition will take place on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at Yardley Hall, located inside the Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College (12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, Kansas 66210).
